New episodes of Table Touch: The Restaurant Talk Show are coming your way! Brandon Hull and Randy Lopez walk through a handful of ridiculous (but true?) restaurant news stories in this first episode of the new season.
Our Best Bites segment takes a back seat this episode — we’ve got something fun in mind for it as part of Season 2, stay tuned we’ll tell you what it is in April.
We recorded this episode amidst Restaurant Leadership Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. A really great, annual restaurant conference that Restaurant Business hosts. RLC featured Danny Meyer, founder of Shake Shack, as restaurant leader of the year for 2014.
Outside of RLC, seriously crazy news abounds for the restaurant industry, and that’s what we tackle in our first episode of the new season.
- What do you think of drones delivering food to you? It’s happening in Singapore. Or is it…? I’d call this an April Fool’s Day story IF IT DIDN’T GET REPORTED BACK IN FEBRUARY. And if this link right here didn’t exist: Infinium Serve.
- There are a lot of roundup posts floating around at various foodie and restaurant-oriented articles. But how about this one: Ten best NYC bars and restaurants with fireplaces. Are you kidding??
- A disgruntled McDonald’s employee goes BALLISTIC and trashes the store…while customers not only watch, but record the train wreck. Do you have your own story of someone who’s gone berserk in your store, employee or customer?
- Did you know: Extreme snacking is a major cause of obesity in America. To which Randy and Brandon say, “Duh.” Maybe, sometimes, we’re to blame in the restaurant industry with our own portion sizes, or our marketing approaches. What do you think?
